Establishment :
The state of Djelfa was established under the administrative division of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria in 1974 with a population of 940,367 (31/12/2005). The population density is 27.8 inhabitants / m2, comprising 36 municipalities and 12 districts.
Location :
It is located 300 km from Algiers, bordered by the north of the state of Medea and the east of the province of Mesila, and to the north-west of Tissemselt from the south-east of Biskra and the state of Ouargla, to the south of the state of Ghardaia in the south-west of the province of the west of Tiaret state.

The climate of the Djelfa region is transitional in general, between the climate of the Mediterranean Sea and the desert climate. It is characterized by severe weather in the winter season, frequent regular frosts, low rainfall, irregularity, prolonged drought and shortening of rainfall.
